Scholarship Committee
from Jean Roy
We have two scholarship recipients this year. Both recipients are outstanding students; one has a cumulative grade of 95.6 and the other a 3.69. They both have faced personal challenges in their lives and managed to rise up and overcome them; one had major health issues and the other comes from a broken family. One has been on student council and is a student representative on the school board. One has taken classes in early childhood education & guides and mentors younger children. Both work part-time jobs, do volunteer work and participate in extra curricular activities. One wants to teach elementary children, the other wants to teach music. Both have significant financial need.
Good Afternoon,
I have a couple of notes to share with
you.
Grace Keene is doing well but sending her a note saying
“Thnking of you” or a note that says “A note to bring sunshine today
– might help her bring a smile to her.

Mona Ervin has had pneumonia but is
doing much better. Her cough may linger but she seems in good spirits
today. Again, a card to cheer her along may be nice.

Yes, they are next door
neighbors!!!! This was not a typing error!
On a better note…… Bob and Pauline Dingle just reported that their grandson Jack Dingle has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this week as a linebacker. This fall it will be exciting to watch a close relative of one of our AREA members! We wish him the best and congratulations.
Remember the Executive Board and interested members ae meeting on-
Tuesday, May 12, at the home
of Roger and Gina Fuller……

If you know of anyone
that needs cheering or has some great news to share, please send it along
to us. Enjoy the sun and get outdoors for a few minutes each day!!
I
do have a funny story to share… I was sitting in my lawn chairs in the
front yard and napped off briefly. When I opened my eyes there was a man
sitting next to me. I said “Hi” and asked him if he was roaming my
neighborhood. He said he was out campaigning and my chairs looked
inviting. He was very nice. I would probably vote for him but he is not
running in my district! Moral… enjoy the sun but be careful
of where you nap!!
