Erlene has 38 years of experience as a
Business/Career Education educator. Twenty-seven of those years wereat Oak
Hill High School where in addition to teaching she was an advisor for
several student organizations and an active member on many school and
district teams and task forces. She was the founder of the Future
Business Leaders Association at Oak Hill High School, and traveled with
Oak Hill students throughout the country.
Her leadership
achievements included serving as Department Chair, Work Study Coordinator,
NEASC Mission and Vision Chairperson, Business Education Association of
Maine Secretary, and Maine Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State
Executive Board Advisor. Her advising has been recognized with FBLA
Advisor of the Year Awards for her drive, passion, and development of an
award-winning FBLA organization.
Erlene is a Maine native,
originally from Portland and now residing in Lewiston. She obtained her BS
Degree in Business Education from Thomas College and her Masters in
Business Education from New Hampshire University.
She approaches
her personal and professional life with the qualities of being a positive,
energetic team member who has a sense of humor and a "can-do"
attitude. Erlene is always on the run, if not to her retirement
position as a classrom aide in the Lewiston Public Schools then surely to
any of the events of her 11 grandchildren. Her other most favorite
hobby is shopping, usually for one or more of the 11
grandchildren.
